Chiesi is an Italian, family-owned company which also has a large number of employees in the UK.
Established in 1935, Chiesi concentrates primarily on developing respiratory, cardiovascular and neonatological drugs, in particular surfactant drugs used to help premature babies breathe.
Chiesi has been partnered with Bliss since early 2018. Most recently in 2020 Chiesi provided a grant towards an emergency print run of 12,000 copies of ‘About Neonatal Care’ booklet following the design, distribution and financial support of this booklet in 2019.
It has offered educational bursaries to twenty researchers in neonatal care to attend the European Academy of Paediatric Societies Congress in Paris, sponsored two study day's for healthcare professionals in Manchester and London and the Bliss Baby Charter Conference in 2018 and 2019.
