Contact your local newspaper and radio station
Appearing in your local paper is a great way to reach people you don’t know. Not only can it help you get more donations, it also raises awareness about Bliss and what we do.
Remember to:
- Research your area – find out what local newspapers, magazines and radio stations write about what is happening where you live.
- Call local media to find out who covers local events or charity fundraising. If you are having an event, invite them to come along. Tell them your story – they’ll be interested in why you are fundraising.
- Write a press release and send it out to your local media. Journalists might not always have time to talk to you on the phone so sending them a press release can often be an easier option for them.
