Role Summary 

One in seven babies is born premature or sick and needing care on a neonatal unit – this isn’t what most parents expect for their baby. 

Bliss is the UK’s leading national charity for babies born premature or sick, and we are looking for a Social Media Officer to join our enthusiastic and passionate team where you will make a real difference to the lives of families and babies in neonatal care. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to drive forward our social media communications and help us be there for more families when they need us. 

  • Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days over 2 weeks worked in our London Bridge office
  • Salary: £28,000 FTE    
  • Terms: 30-35 hours a week, permanent.
  • Regular evening/weekend work (remote) at certain points during the year

Role Details

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain experience in a range of skills and expertise ranging from developing a content schedule, community management, creating compelling posts, as well as evaluating impact.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable ability to develop a comprehensive social media strategy that includes planning, creating, scheduling and monitoring of impactful campaigns across social platforms that drive engagement with Bliss’ services, fundraising, advocacy and brand. 
  • Ability to collaborate closely with teams across the organisation to conceptualise and create compelling reels, short-form videos and other multimedia content to engage our audiences
  • The experience in running paid social media advertising campaigns to meet specific objectives, as and when required. 
  • Ability to respond to messages and comments on social platforms in a supportive tone of voice always keeping in mind the sensitivities of our audiences and being alert to any messages that might be offensive or triggering or a potential risk to reputation.
