Bliss Little Lights Walk

Bliss Little Lights London 2019 Paul Carrano 8374

Light up the night with your own sponsored walk for World Prematurity Day.

What is a Bliss Little Lights walk?

Bliss Little Lights is a sponsored walk with lanterns, fairy lights or anything that helps you shine, to light the way for the 90,000 babies that are cared for in neonatal units every year in the UK.

If you know neonatal staff who went out of their way during your neonatal journey, a family member who offered a listening ear or you want to honour the babies at the heart of everything – walk for those touched by their neonatal experience.

You will be joining super fundraisers across the UK taking part in sponsored walks and lighting up the night.

When can I host a Little Lights walk?

You can do your Little Lights walk anytime that suits you. Many people choose to focus their walk in November, around the 17th for World Prematurity Day. But you can choose a date that means the most to you.

Holding a Little Lights walk is a perfect opportunity to get together and with family, friends and colleagues or perhaps you would like to do a sponsored solo walk. It is completely up to you!

If you would like to join a Little Lights walk, you'll need to know someone in your area who is hosting a Little Lights walk and be a part of that. (Our London walk is now sold out, so cannot be joined).

How are we shining a light for families in neonatal care?

  • We’ve been campaigning since 2019 to introduce extended parental leave for parents while their baby is receiving neonatal care, so that parents get the time they need with their baby. As a result of our work in this area, The Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Bill, introduced by Stuart C McDonald MP, reached Royal Assent on 24 May 2023 meaning it is now law!
  • Our clear and comprehensive information on our website and in neonatal units is vital to illuminate the way for families in neonatal care.
  • Our email and video support services provide families with somewhere to turn for emotional support to brighten their neonatal journey.
